[Harry Potter Official Club] RE: How Did Dumbledore Beat the Unbeatable Wand?

I believe that the elder wand can be won in a duel, but not "defeated". I am pretty sure that the wand could be Expelliarmused out of the owners hand, which would mean that the wands alliance would then be to the one who won the duel.

Such a cruel contradiction.

Subject: [Harry Potter Official Club] How Did Dumbledore Beat the Unbeatable Wand?

Has anyone considered how Albus Dumbledore was able to defeat Gellert Grindelwald when Gellert had the Elder Wand, which was supposedly unbeatable? When they met in "King's Cross" after Voldemort hit Harry with the Killing Curse, Dumbledore told him only "I won the duel. I won the wand."

I think there's a fairly obvious answer but I'm curious to hear if there are some other theories first.
