but also listening to Diana Waring's CD's. They are so interesting! But
often she gives just a bit of information about a person or an event, so I've
been searching for books that tell more of the story, and I read about Eve
Tappan on this loop, so I got one of her books, The History of England, and have
been enjoying it, and also, Dickens wrote A Child's History of England, and
it's a very interesting book, filled with detail and narrative like his other
classics. I got it on ebay for $2.99. It starts with the ancient peoples
on the island that becomes England, the Druids, the Scots, the Picts, etc.,
the Vikings, then Alfred the Great. And the stories are written in such a way
as to really draw a picture in your mind so that you remember them. I'm
really enjoying it.
