[Bookroom] Re: fixing a book

I would recommend using 3M BOOK TAPE. This is a clear tape that looks
like packing tape, but is MUCH heavier weight than what is available for
packaging and mailing. It is more expensive, but well worth it - the
other tape will wear off in a relatively short period of time (looses
its stick and elasticity like cellophane (scotch) tape.) You can
probably find this in an office supply store, and certainly from library
supply companies.

It can be used to reinforce bindings on the inside, outside, or corners.

You can used colored cloth tapes from the library supply catalogs, but
this is not very attractive, in my opinion. If you have lost the spine,
colored tape looks better than the bare binding, but if you still have
the spine label, I would not use it.
