[Bookroom] Ryann Watters is almost out! Free copies

I haven't written in quite a while, but a lot has been happening with my book. The publisher is sending it to retail store warehouses around the country now for sale beginning May 1. There are early copies available at my website: www.RyannWatters.com and if you run a big blog site, let me know and I'll pass your name along to the PR team for a free copy to review. 70 books have been sent out to the first blog tour.
My site has excerpts from the book and I'd love to get feedback as I work on book 2 now. So far 2,000 books have been sold or distributed and I have enjoyed very positive responses from parents and children, ages 8-15.

Thanks again!
Eric

Christine,

I too was lured by the Newberry award, as they are sometimes books I like, and picked this one up at a library sale. A precursory skimming of this book gave me a negative feeling about this book. I don't have a review to offer you, only that I listened to that negative feeling and got rid of the book. I too, do not have time to pre-read every book. Especially since my sons can read at a lightening speed compared to me plodding along through something I don't enjoy.
I asked a discerning Father once how he managed this problem. He said that he prays and asks the Lord for guidance and then flips through the book. He said that invariably, he will turn to the trouble spot instantly, and determine whether this is a spot to talk through (thus allow them to read it and then discuss the troublesome part) or if it is enough of an issue to cause him to eliminate the book from his library. Also, he said that he will instantly get a good or bad feeling about the book. When it has turned out to be a good book, he will flip and flip and find nothing and then commit the book to the Lord asking for further wisdom if needed. I have turned to this method often.

HTH,
Victoria
